This individual will specifically be leading teams delivering and expanding highly performant and scalable Enterprise data solutions that drive Data Governance across the Data lifecycle for all data across the data ecosystem, while driving data engineering best practices. The candidate will have a solid understanding of responsible use of data and what it means to design new and emergent solutions to ensure that Capital One builds trust and integrity into our Systems. You will:
  • Lead, manage, and grow multiple teams of product focused software & data engineers
  • Embrace and incubate emerging technology and open source products across all platforms
  • Work to modernize our existing tech stacks and data platforms
  • Collaborate with internal teams to find areas of opportunities for automation and machine learning
  • Partner with architects, product owners, data professionals, and software & data engineers to drive the implementation of new applications
  • Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across full-stack development tools and technologies.
  • Lead efforts to deploy new and existing applications into AWS environments and provide operational support for the applications.
  • Conduct design and code review to ensure compliance with standards
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 10 years experience in data engineering
  • At least 8 years of experience managing software or data engineering teams
  • At least 4 years of experience with Big Data and data processing
  • At least 4 years of experience with cloud based data platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • 15+ years of experience in data engineering
  • 10+ years of experience managing software and data engineering teams
  • 4+ years of experience with AWS
