job summary:We're hiring a Technical Writer to join our Product team working on +Oscar. Oscar is the first health insurance company built around a full stack technology platform and a relentless focus on serving our members, and +Oscar is our tech-driven platform business to develop solutions for partners based on client needs and +Oscar offerings. In this role, your top priority will be to shore up product documentation, from developing an internal source of truth on each of our respective products' capabilities that other teams can reference and adapt content for their own use cases and audiences, to creating demo decks for provider, member, and broker-facing tools geared towards business and operational stakeholders, and more. You will report into the Associate Director of Market Strategy.

Requirements:
  • You have 5+ years of work experience with at least 2+ years of technical writing in a highly cross-functional environment
  • You grasp technical concepts quickly, ask good questions, and are as comfortable working side-by-side with engineers as you are explaining software requirements and product capabilities to a non-technical audience. (Ability to write code is not required.)
  • You can get to the root cause of knowledge gaps and operational challenges within an organization and translate that into a tangible solution
  • You represent the needs of the product team in conversations with internal stakeholders and external partners; you communicate clearly and concisely in written form.
  • You have a passion for fixing problems, honing processes, and driving projects forward whatever is needed for us to achieve our ambitious goals.
  • While you can take on large projects independently, you enjoy working cross-functionally to accomplish greater goals as a team.

  • Partnering closely with Product team members, Engineering, Business teams, external partners, and other stakeholders to understand our product documentation needs
  • In partnership with product team leads, developing a strategy and framework for documenting our product capabilities
  • Creating and maintaining collateral that empowers internal Oscar teams and +Oscar clients while reducing strain on product and tech teams

  • Experience level: Experienced
  • Minimum 6 years of experience
  • Education: Bachelors
