Planate Management Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, USA with a technical support center in the Philippines that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies.

The Inspector will be responsible for all structural inspections and related activities in accordance with applicable construction codes, performing research of information, inspections, and reports of findings.

This is a 6-month project, based in Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands and is contingent on the award of the contract.

Key responsibilities:

Perform visual structural inspection

Interpret and enforce applicable building codes

Provide technical expertise to the team conducting facility inspections

Report discrepancies and code violations, able to investigate immediately and document findings

Inspect the facility for compliance with Occupational License requirements

Document inspection results

Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications To be successful in the role:

Must have at least 5 years’ experience as a structural inspector, superintendent, or quality control engineer on construction projects

Experienced in preparing correspondence and documenting inspections

In-depth experience in interpreting drawings on projects

Experienced in conducting materials, workmanship, and construction inspections and installation of various systems (such as fire alarm systems) within the area of expertise

Knowledgeable with the facility industry’s safety practices, including a background of familiarity with OSHA safety requirements

Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
