Neighbor to Neighbor’s (N2N) Homeownership Advisor provides comprehensive homeownership counseling to Larimer County households (and surrounding areas, when applicable). Extensive training is provided in housing-specific curriculum such as budget education, foreclosure prevention, homeownership education, and reverse mortgage consultation. Qualified candidates will have an interest in supporting community members by providing financial health education and supporting the foundation of a stable home and homeownership opportunity.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Counseling
Provide clients with appropriate information and referrals to community resources to support homeownership attainment
Provide reverse mortgage and foreclosure prevention counseling in-person and over the phone
Schedule and provide in-person and/or virtual Homebuyer Education and "e-Home" classes
Complete follow up calls with N2N clients to assess knowledge gained from services
Serve as a representative on N2N's Homeownership Advisory Board
Document all client interaction in the CounselorMax and Salesforce database systems
Maintain a high level of confidentiality when working with clients
Complete trainings as appropriate and necessary
Obtain and maintain relevant professional certifications via HUD and NeighborWorks America
Assist Program Director with reporting and grant compliance when necessary
Provide documentation of client stories for marketing and outreach purposes
Participate in N2N Team meetings
Positively represents N2N in the community and assure excellent client and partner relations,
rapport and reputation
Other responsibilities as needed for the successful operation of the organization
QUALIFICATIONS
2 years of related experience providing services to clients
Proficiency in English (Spanish-speaking candidates encouraged to apply)
Demonstrated counseling skills, primarily the ability to understand and empathize with others
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Knowledge of local resources or willingness to learn resources to make referrals
Experience working with low-income populations
Good organizational and problem solving skills
Position will require passing the HUD Housing Counseling Exam.
Training and study materials will be provided once in position.
DURATION: 40 hours per week. This is a permanent position, based on community need. It will require face to face work with clients, including some Saturdays. Applicant will need to commute to Fort Collins/Loveland area. The position does allow for 2-3 work from home days each week.
BENEFITS AND PAY: Medical, dental and life insurance is available for all permanent employees. Full time employees get 10 paid holidays and 22 days Personal Time Off (PTO). PTO is accrued each pay period. After 60 days of employment, employees are eligible for 2 additional floating paid holidays.
