The Cybersecurity Engineer will lead the design and implementation for zero trust architecture, cybersecurity maturity processes, and hybrid cloud integration for advanced software defined networking.Primary ResponsibilitiesParticipate in design and planning for evaluation and integration of vendor solutionsLead requirements and backlog management for cybersecurity related software development activitiesEvaluate technologies and solutions to increase network security posture, decrease trust zones, mitigate insider threat, and identify high risk behaviorsConfigure and manage next generation firewalls, intrusion detection, endpoint protection, routers, and switchesCollect, normalize, and analyze network log dataManually analyze network data for trends and anomalies to compare and adjust machine learning modelsProvision, configure, deploy, and administer secure cloud resources using AWS and AzureEvaluate systems and solutions for compliance with relevant cybersecurity standards (e.g. NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-207, NIST SP 800-53, RMF)Evaluate software coding practices for compliance with STIGs and other cybersecurity best practicesParticipate in agile planning and estimation activities to break down large tasks into smaller tasksParticipate in agile scrum meetings and work within SecDevOps best practicesMentor other engineers in cybersecurity and networking best practicesBasic QualificationsBachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, or related field and 8+ years of networking and cybersecurity experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.Proficiency in networking, firewalls, TCP/IP, zero trust, and comprehensive knowledge of cybersecurity principlesHands-on experience configuring and managing firewalls, intrusion detection, endpoint protection, routers, and switchesExperience analyzing network log dataUnderstanding of software engineering and secure coding practices using C, Java, Python, or other object oriented languagesUnderstanding of interface standards such as REST, JSON, XML, and SAMLExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong, self-motivated desire to learn new programming languages, tools, frameworks, and techniquesMust be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance (US citizenship)Preferred QualificationsRecent experience with cybersecurity and information assurance accreditation processes for DoD or IC customersUnderstanding of Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC)Experience with Elasticsearch, Splunk, and AI/ML platformsHands-on experience with Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) toolsKnowledge of agile development processes and DevOps tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, ConfluenceKnowledge of continuous integration, delivery, and automated test tools such as Jenkins, SonarQube, JUnit, Cucumber, Selenium, JMeterCurrent cybersecurity, cloud, and network product certifications (e.g. CISSP, CCNE, AWS)Active DoD security clearancePay Range:#Remote
