Life Solutions Architect (Life)10 Amica Way, Lincoln RI 02865Our office in Lincoln, RI is seeking a Life Solutions Architect.This position is responsible for the research, design, development and integration of architectural solutions to effectively achieve Amica's end-state business vision and align with Amica's enterprise architecture. This position will provide guidance to the organization on the selection and implementation of third-party solutions as well as integration efforts with vendor partners and Corporate Information Systems (CIS).

Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines that enable the design of technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with the CIS Enterprise, Solution Architects, and Infrastructure teams to recommend changes in application development strategies and technologies used at Amica Life.
  • Responsible for establishing current and long-range direction of application development technology aimed at keeping the organization on the forefront of change.
  • Deliver technical solutions and provides guidance to programs, project teams and application development & configuration teams
  • Provide overall system & application development direction and guidance to IS/IT staff.
  • Utilize and maintain technical and application expertise, including the use of technologies, tools, programming languages, established processes, and concepts necessary to develop quality IT solutions across multiple domains.
  • Work closely and collaborate with Amica's external vendor partners to provide direction and oversight.
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on new technologies that support company goals.
  • Lead in new technology integration via requirements analysis, design and implementation.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required and a minimum of 9 years of experience in multiple and/or highly complex business application system architecture domains or, an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with design, configuration and management of business application systems.
  • Experience as an enterprise architect with an understanding of strategic technology planning, implementation and high availability enterprise solutions.
  • Experience with core technologies, including open standards, databases and object orientated API driven integration technologies.
  • Deep development, integration and design experience using Java and Web Services (REST and SOAP)
  • Experience using UML tools such as MS Visio as well as Alfabet software is preferred, but not required.
  • Preferred to have worked in Life Insurance & Annuity and/or Financial services sector, but not require
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
