Primary PurposeThis individual will play a key role in executing the company’s data strategies by supporting existing ETL processes and creating of new ETL processes. The individual will ensure proper data workflows and architecture are being followed. The individual will work with the business to gather requirements, document processes, work on break / fix remediation and work to provide necessary data to operations for monitoring, data management and process workflow. The individual will work to mentor junior engineers in proper coding techniques and practices.

Key Activities
  • Identify and create strategies to address data quality concerns and enforce standards.
  • Implement data management repositories based on multiple internal and external data sources
  • Manage logical and physical data models and maintain detailed design documents
  • Troubleshoot critical ETL workflow and data centric problems and recommend solutions
  • Work with analytics business partners to analyze business needs, data sources and develop technical data pipeline solutions to ingest raw data into data warehouse
  • Write new or modify existing code and conduct complete end to end unit tests on data and data pipelines
  • Collaborate with the business analytics team to analyze, resolve, and put in place measures to maintain data accuracy and integrity in support of strategic analytics applications
  • Obtain and ingest raw data from a variety of sources and methodologies leveraging appropriate coding languages
  • Write transformation logic on raw data and subsequently create semantic layers to publish data in a form suitable for consumption by business users and BI visualization tools
  • Assist in API development to enable business and/or other system’s consumption of published data
  • Create and maintain pipeline process documentation and recovery procedures on how to resume failed pipeline processing
  • Consult with and assist other programmers to analyze, schedule and implement new or modified workflows

SkillsEducation & Experience/Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management information systems (MIS) or related degree / experience commiserate to a degree preferred
  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience implementing, maintaining, and supporting data management solutions including program/project delivery management
Skills & Abilities
  • Proven experience in technical analysis, critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to write code using common scripting languages such as SQL, Python, and/or other scripting languages
  • Experience with ETL tools and techniques and/or pipeline building
  • Proficient with data discovery, data analysis and data virtualization techniques
  • Full understanding of data base concepts, data typing and database cardinality principles
  • Experience in a data analytics environment working with multiple tables and big-data concepts
  • Expertise with SQL, Snowflake, SQLServer or MySQL including data troubleshooting, building complex queries, table joins and views working with multiple tables and big-data concepts
  • Experience building applications or pipelines with serverless technologies like Azure data factory, data bricks or AWS serverless platform a plus
  • Solid MS Excel skills including ability to use advanced formulas, nested if statements, pivot tables and conduct full data analysis of pipelined data
  • Experience with BI application development a plus
  • Proficient with process workflow mapping and business process improvement
  • Professionalism in dealing with all levels of management, peers, project stakeholders and vendors
  • Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to balance multiple demands and work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high volume, deadline-driven environment
  • Basic to intermediate project management skills

Work Environment
  • Normal office
  • Position requires individual to be on-site at the home office
  • Occasional telecommuting possible with manager’s approval
