UMBers are known for having multiple careers here and having their voices heard.Our Information Security organization serves as the eyes and ears of UMB’s technology security and ensures controls, authentication and authorization are in place to keep UMB systems and applications safe. We monitor, discover and remediate any vulnerabilities while upholding and complying with all established corporate policies, standards and procedures. We work with UMB associates to help them be effective and be able to perform their jobs by granting the appropriate access. We collaborate with other technical teams to ensure base security metrics are being met. Best of all, we get to use cutting edge tools to make sure all systems and company devices are free from any potential threats. In today’s digital world, our team plays a critical role in UMB’s enterprise security plan.As an Information Security Engineer, you will provide expert information security-related input and design for projects that require security perspective. You will be involved in designing and administering security systems for UMB’s networks. You protect the systems from cyber threats, including bugs, malware, and hacking attempts. This also includes identifying existing issues and building safeguards to avoid future threats. The integrity of the UMB’s data is the primary focus for the Information Security Engineer.The Information Security Engineering team is close-knit group of security professionals dedicated to ensuring the security of UMB systems and applications. We have an eye for something that doesn’t look right, and we share a strong commitment to ensure our technology will not be compromised and to find solutions to avoid future vulnerabilities. Being vigilant and willing to learn makes us stronger.How you’ll spend your time:Create and enforce company security policies, standards and best practices.

Research, evaluate, design, test, recommend and implement new or improved security systems.

Monitor and respond to security incidents and violations of security policy.

Ensure the security of the computing environment by enforcing appropriate controls and countermeasures.

Identify and assist in remediation of security vulnerabilities.

We’re excited to talk with you if:You have at least 5 years of Information Security experience.

You have in-depth experience working with firewalls, intrusion detection systems, authentication, authorization and accounting systems (AAA); application security concepts and tools or cloud security controls.

You have broad experience in many of the following areas: TCP/IP, networking, UNIX, Windows, AAA (Authentication, Authorization, Accounting), antivirus, email systems, cloud environments.

You have hands-on experience with 2 or more scripting languages such as Python, Perl, PowerShell or Bash.

You have the ability to relate complex business requirements and associated risks to technology design/implementation for security related and other areas of technology.

You are able to effectively adapt to rapidly changing security technology and threat vectors to be able to apply findings to business needs and requirements.
