Overview Our teams are responsible for applying software engineering techniques to production operations to help improve system reliability, developer productivity and reduce technical debt of the services our team supports. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about system reliability to influence and drive our Production Service mission.Our Production Service teams own some of the most critical responsibilities at BNY Mellon. To ensure these responsibilities are met, our team members need to exhibit ownership, accountability, and an eagerness to learn. As a member of our team, you will have a lead role in contributing to the success of a suite of applications supporting BNY Mellon-s Human Resources, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Regulatory, Legal and Corporate Treasury functions. Primary Responsibilities:- Respond to, diagnose, and resolve service disruptions with time sensitive operating level agreements
- Help drive root cause analysis for production incidents through problem management
- Lead production readiness reviews for new releases and validate the supportability of changes prior to introduction into production
- Participate in deployments into the production environment
- Identify, define, and implement required application monitoring
- Create and maintain support documentation and procedures
- Identify opportunities for automating manual work and assist with requirements gathering and possibly contribute to the solution through small scripting assignments
- Apply scripting and automation skills to reduce team manual operations and improve application availability and reliability
- Help drive DevOps adoption through build and release management improvements using continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) techniques
- Demonstrated ability being self-organized with a focus on accountability and ownership
- Ability to deal with time sensitive issues in support of critical service level commitments
- Understanding of ITIL Service Management, Incident, Problem, and Change
- Experience triaging application issues and service restoration in a production environment
- Experience identifying and configuring application monitoring for early issue detection
- Experience deploying applications in a production environment
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Perl, bash, and/or Powershell) to help automate manual processes
- Familiarity with specific monitoring tools a plus - AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Moogsoft or related solutions
- Familiarity with development pipeline automation using technologies such as Ansible, GITLAB CI, Jenkins or other technologies
- Java application support and development experience a plus
