Position: Quality Control Support Staff

Location: Washington, DC

Type: Fulltime

Key Responsibilities

Unified Industries Incorporated (UII) is seeking Quality Control Staff members. Candidates will provide support and assistance for our Quality Inspectors who are performing incoming, in process, testing, assembly, and final physical inspection of components and systems of railcars during PM and Midnight shifts. The duties and responsibilities of the Quality Control Staff include:

Witness and document results of in process, testing, assembly, and final physical inspection of components and systems of railcars

Work with operation personnel, supervisors, managers to achieve quality and production goals

Document and report data and findings from inspections in inspection reports and related documentation with a high degree of accuracy, completeness, and attention to detail

Provide support to Inspectors conducting follow up investigations

Witness and document receipt and pre-shipment inspections

Prepare and submit required documentation upon completion of inspections

Participate in quality and manufacturing audits and meetings

Manage and Maintain Quality Documents and Inspection Plans

Provide assistance in performing Internal Audits/Complete Various Inspections

Other support duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

High School graduate with technical schooling or associate degree

Minimum of 3 years of Quality Control experience - candidates with proven successful experience in manufacturing repair/quality control of other complex transportation vehicles including aircraft or merchant/maritime vessels, automotive repair may be considered

Ideal position for recently discharged Veterans with electrical/mechanical experience familiar with QA/QC requirements

Good written and verbal communication skills

Keen attention to detail

Documentation and reporting skills

Teamwork and collaboration

Comfortable standing or walking for long periods of time

Possess an understanding of principles of operation, safety precautions, and operations and maintenance schedules that apply

Ability to support meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of quality

Experience and familiarity of quality assurance program requirements

Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Power Point, Word)

Knowledge of basic math and computer skills for measuring calibrating, and calculating specifications for quality control testing
