Core Responsibilities:

  • Operational Duties
    • Train increasing skill set focused on DevOps tools and emerging technologies
    • Create and update documentation and collaborate with other professionals
    • Participate in the Skyline Agile/SCRUM planning process, team meetings, trainings
    • Develop scripts/code in line with Skyline process standards
    • Participate in functional code review process
    • Assist with process integration and continuous improvement enhancements with Product, Networking, Engineering, QA, and Desk teams for DOT platform
    • Specialization in DevOps, Containerization, CI/CD, VMWare/VSphere,
  • Operational Support (ITSM)
    • Incident/Request/Problem resolution and escalation for client/internal
    • Utilize existing change control (CAB) process
    • Participate in Product Operations on-call rotation
    • Respond to customer support calls, emails, and tickets
    • Follow established SOPs and organizational governance
    • Create and share knowledge through documentation and training
  • Service Delivery/Integration
    • Configure the Skyline applications (containers) on Linux platform OEM servers
    • Remote or on-site install of the appliance (server) at client site(s)
    • Establish additional configurations as required on site to support Skyline software suite
    • Execute DOT related project/task work as required
    • Assist with monthly DOT performance reporting
  • Professional/Personal Development
    • Relevant certification(s), skills enhancements
    • Understanding Product Code to better troubleshoot
  • On Site Support/Travel
    • Dispatches for break fix (incidents), deployments (new clients), maintenance/upgrades.
  • Other Duties as Assigned
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
  • Excellent communication ability – verbal and written
  • Adept with MS Office Suite/Sharepoint (& Visio)
  • Comfortable working in a team, and individual setting
  • Tool Experience: Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, ServiceNow, SolarWinds
  • Scripting: Perl, Python, JavaScript, bash, sh
  • Linux Proficiency: CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, RedHat
  • Eng/Dev: Object orientation, debugging, database, networking, testing, vim/emacs, etc
  • Certification(s) [sought after, but not required]
    • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer (path), Splunk, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes
  • Foundational understanding of IP routing technologies
  • Adept and familiarity with Cloud/Virtual Systems: AWS, Google, Azure | VMWare
What We're Looking ForEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year accredited University (IS, COSC, ENG, degrees preferred)
  • Or equivalent combination of experience
  • 2-5 years relevant experience
  • 1-2 years in operations and/or helpdesk type role
  • 1-2 years scripting major/minor solutions
  • 1-2 years participating in the SDLC of software products
  • 0-1 years direct cloud technology experience
  • 1-2 years with automation tools
