- Provide consultation to product design teams as part of our safety review process.
- Evaluate a product's construction, labeling, and documentation against published safety standards and internal safety standards and practices.
- Successfully carry out the compliance approval process to achieve quality, performance, schedule, and cost objectives in a cross-functional environment.
- Support the Milestone process for all engineering requirements to deliver a product that meets our history of guaranteed tough products.
- Generate and maintain product safety policies and guides.
- Generate and review technical documentation (test plans, test data reports, description reports).
- Develop comments and proposals for product safety standards or other regulatory proposals
- Serve on external standards development committees and trade association committees as required.
- Communicate changes in requirements to the organization, solicit input and feedback on proposals.
- A Bachelor of Science Degree Electrical Engineering or a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with experience in the design of electrical products
- 8+ years of experience in an engineering role
- Experience designing or certifying to a product or component safety or performance standard.
- The ability to analyze situations logically and develop appropriate solutions, finding alternatives to existing solutions and justifying your proposals
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, comfortable presenting to groups and reporting out to management.
- Comfortable developing working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Ability to coach and mentor and work with others collaboratively.
- A desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, high-volume manufacturing environment.
