SUMMARY: Oversees sanitation function to ensure compliance with all quality management programs and food safety systems, such as HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) in support of the plant's Quality Assurance department. Will be responsible for documenting cleaning and sanitizing procedures for food contact and nonfood contact surfaces. Assists in the operation of sanitation equipment and machinery to clean and sanitize production areas. Maintains plant sanitation programs and procedures to fulfill sanitation requirements while fostering a safe working environment. Responsible for training of sanitation basis, SSOP’s and motivating sanitation staff to perform at their best and deliver results in a continuous process improvement environment.

Responsible for ensuring thorough cleaning and sanitation for all processing equipment, tools, machines and all adjacent areas prior to the start of operations

Oversee clean-up activities of equipment and facilities in all production areas

Direct and delegate work activities to staff through time-management and prioritization to ensure that all plant cleaning requirements are fulfilled

Maintains documentation of sanitation logs and SOP’s by properly completing documentations that measure daily performance and completion details

Maintains and maintains GMP provisions and monitors associate practices that relate to cleanliness, sanitation, and pest control

Assist in the operation of sanitation equipment and machinery to clean and sanitize production areas.

Ensure the safety of all employees; conduct safety training

Understand all aspects of Sanitation

Perform light to heavy cleaning duties using various equipment and utensils

Trains staff and production employees assigned to sanitation duty on proper sanitation procedures

Able to apply proper chemical applications throughout the facility, demonstrate the proper usage and application of all sanitation equipment

Assist in the development of sanitation personnel members through On-The-Job training

Promotes, complies, actively participates and enforces the importance of safety, to help maintain a safe and healthy work environment

Communicates job duties to sanitation personnel

Implement sanitation programs which support company's processes and procedures, ensuring highest quality products are produced in a thoroughly clean environment

Works closely with Supervisor and staff to ensure SOP requirements are maintained

Conducts physical inspections of equipment to evaluate effectiveness of sanitation efforts

Ensure the proper verification of cleaning & sanitization events by enforcing proper and accurate documentation of all sanitation forms/logs

Assist in the development of the master sanitation schedule

Perform regular inventories of sanitation chemicals and non-chemical supplies

Report any sanitation equipment in need of repair/maintenance

Support management staff during plant sanitation audits

Maintains the cleanliness of the building and grounds

Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals

Review new equipment or equipment modifications to give feedback on design aspects that affect the ability to clean and sanitize the equipment or process

Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill

Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:

Able to work in a fast paced, high stress environment

Ability to work overtime and/or flex work hours as required (day or night) including weekends.

Requires strong attention to detail and ability to multitask

Ability to communicate with supervisors and coworkers in a team environment

Able to work according to food facility regulations

High school diploma or equivalent

Basic knowledge of sanitation procedures and chemical application

Food industry related experience. Sanitation experience a plus

Demonstrates people and team leadership skills (supervisory experience preferred)

SKILLS:

Demonstrated leadership of sanitation programs and continuous improvement

Strong awareness in the food sector and sanitation

Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and safe and proper chemical handling

Strong interpersonal skills to include team building and oral communication

Strong organization and planning skills

Ilocano or Tagalog speaking a plus

The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds

Regularly required to stand, walk, bending, kneeling and crouching for prolonged periods of time

Stand for an 8 to 12 hour shift

Work around food manufacturing equipment and supplies

Lifting, pushing, pulling and grasping while standing and kneeling

Absence: Sanitation Supervisor shall cover duties for Sanitation Lead during absence
