Position Description: This position may be filled at the Senior Director or Director level!Senior Director, Research Information Systems leads and directs clinical research information systems to ensure they align with the business and research objectives of the organization. The Senior Director provides strategic direction and oversight of the development of innovative solutions directly related to all services supported across the clinical and research domains. The Senior Director will manage and direct the development of new functionality and provide oversight of multiple project development efforts involving integrations of information and data systems across other Information Services (IS) development and support areas within Penn Medicine.Accountabilities• Develops, plans and executes testing and performance measures for all CRIS supported applications and hardware in association with the CRIS production systems• Provides strategic direction and oversight to cross-functional IS team members to determine and define specific analytical and technical systems information requirements, objectives and solution sets for the enhancements and configuration of CRIS applications.• Directs CRIS management and team members through the project management life cycle to ensure that overall progress and management of multiple application project tasks are on track.• Leads, directs and participates in developing departmental policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiencies, while working through IS managers, leveraging peer resources, engaging external expertise, and maintaining strong relationships with internal business units, and clients.• Researches and analyzes new CRIS functionality and releases of supported applications to enhance productivity and operational processes. Promptly identifies, documents and resolves problems with system functionality.• Develops the education and delivery to internal team members, physicians, clinical and research staff in utilization of CRIS functionality within Penn Medicine IS.• Directs and coordinates IS teams across areas to ensure all compliance and validation requirements, code and product change management procedures and protocols for CRIS programs.• Coordinates and adheres to strict implementation schedules and handles multiple assignments.• Interacts closely with senior leadership and key project stakeholders with exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.• Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures• Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organizationDirector, Research Information Systems oversees and manages clinical research information systems and ensures they align with the business and research objectives of the organization.
