Description Job Description: Leidos is seeking to hire a Cyber Security Engineer Lead to provide support to the Department of Transportation's Enterprise IT Infrastructure environment. Our work will assist with the management of IT services for the Chief Information Officer (CIO) including: Service Desk, Incident Management, Customer Service Operations, Database Administration, Telephone & Conference Call Services, Desktop Support, Mobile Device Support, and Remote Access Support. This position provides technical leadership for the Security Operations Center (SOC) team at the Department of Transportation (DoT) Enterprise Information Technology Support Services (EITSS) program.Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 15-20 cybersecurity engineers for delivery of Cybersecurity project management, continuous diagnostics and mitigation, threat mitigation and incident response, security architecture support, critical infrastructure protection, patch management, vulnerability management, risk management, information assurance, & cybersecurity services.
  • Produce a cybersecurity status update weekly and monthly
  • Present to DoT Directors on a biweekly basis of work status and significant items of risk
  • Utilize Palo Alto XDR, Tenable, MS SCCM, and similar tools to manage the environment
  • Manage the update of required deliverable in accordance with the contract
  • Work with peer management to ensure the prioritization and remediation of vulnerabilities
  • Meet with and deliver regular reports to modal resources to address identified vulnerabilities
  • Ensure continued compliance with FISMA requirements of the managed FISMA system in accordance with NIST 800-37
  • Provide a direct interface (Point of Contact) to the DoT leadership when issues arise preventing the remediation of vulnerabilities and incidents.
  • Escalate and remediate vulnerabilities as appropriate.
  • Perform day-today activities required to administer and deploy Symantec anti-virus software, DAT, and engineer updates.
  • Perform virus scans as scheduled.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and provide incident resolution for all incidents requiring escalated support.
  • Assist with malware response efforts.
  • This position is anticipated to be 50% managerial and 50% hand's-on technical.
Basic Qualifications
  • Requires a BS degree and 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Minimum 12 years' of related experience administering Symantec anti-virus software.
  • Demonstrated experience working in large Federal agency.
  • Possess the knowledge of security best practices, security solutions, and methodologies for risk management
  • Demonstrated understanding of the life cycle of cybersecurity threats, attacks, attack vectors and methods of exploitation with an understanding of intrusion set tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs).
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of industry accepted standards
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policies, Dell Hardware, and anti-virus technologies.
