You'll get to:

  • Support the global electronics and electrical systems group with focus on design of electromechanical assemblies for battery packs.
  • Apply engineering concepts and creativity to develop an innovative, reliable, and safe electronic motor controls
  • Design using 3D modeling techniques, releasing 2D detailed drawings, creating and managing BOM from prototype level to mass production level of product development cycle in PLM system
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams including marketing, Industrial design, manufacturing, product, and reliability teams to understand user needs, product design constraints and testing needs.
  • Perform Structural, thermal analysis for high power electronic assemblies
  • Work with contract manufacturer for delivery of new motor control modules
  • Perform tolerance stack ups, DFMEA's, PFMEA's, process control plans, release Engineering Changes
  • Design test plans, analyze results from advance testing
  • Apply your engineering knowledge and collaborate with our compliance department to meet regulatory compliance, safety, and reliability requirements.
  • Utilize SBD's Milestone process to develop and deliver technical design in support of new products.
  • Report out to management on a regular basis.

  • B.S. or equivalent in Mechanical engineering discipline, MSME preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in product development of high-volume electronic modules and assemblies
  • Knowledgeable of lithium ion battery technology and battery pack designs is highly desired
  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling software, a must, CATIA V5 preferred
  • Familiarity with Printed Circuit Board design desired
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes for various electronic and other products
  • Demonstrated ability to design plastic components, metallic components, working with various materials
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and meet schedule and cost commitments
  • Have excellent communication skills to deal with customers and suppliers to meet the targets of scheduled events
  • Supplier development for key components and working with contract manufacturers
  • Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stacks ups, Failure analysis etc.
  • Strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated understanding of quality, performance, schedule, and cost objectives in a cross functional and / or technical environment.
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally
