Who You Are: You're a strong problem solver who loves digging into the details to fully understand what is goingon. You have fixed a lot of problems, so you know how sort out what is meaningful and what is not,in order tobe as efficient as possible. You have run DOE's and done the statistics to make well informed decisions. You like getting your hands dirty and want to be the one disassembling a problem to find out what is broken and how to fix it. You're agile and adaptable but work with precision to ensure we deliver top-notch customer experiences, always. You want to work on a project where you can see the fruits of your labor come to life and enjoy getting to see the finished product on the shelves of major retailers around the globe. You also have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience.
  • Proficient in with one or more 2D/3D CAD (Catia preferred) & FEA & dimensional stack-up calculations
  • Demonstrated ability to dissect a problem to find the root cause, design a solution and create a simulation/test method to prove out the issue really is fixed.
  • Enjoys getting your hands dirty and being involved in building, testing and de-bugging tools throughout the development cycle
  • Experience with product development: Design, part specification using GD&T, root cause analysis, test instrumentation, data acquisition and analysis
  • Desire to teach others and lead by example
What You'll Do: As a Project Engineer, you'll lead a small team that's part of our Global Tools & Storage team located in Towson, MD. Specifically, you and your team will:
  • Design plastic enclosures, housings, terminal blocks, and light pipes to support the development of new product development programs in the batterychargerscategory.
  • Evaluating the components through hands on test and/or simulation
  • Assemble the prototypes, develop test plans, and oversee testing
  • Conduct structural /CFD simulation for chargers, evaluate the structural integrity and thermal performance, and provide recommendations for improvements based on the simulation results
  • Conduct fan optimization for improving the air flow and thermal performance ofhigh powerchargers.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure good mold flow, process settings, and overall part quality for injection molded housings/components.
  • Research/identify/implement alternate resins for use in the charger platform of products.
  • Lead fellow engineers and designers to bring battery charging products to market.
