You'll get to:
- Constructs experimental or prototype devices to meet project requirements.
- Teardown competitive designs & perform basic experiments to improve design output.
- Participate in research / use & handling sessions for power tool evaluation.
- Creates simple and complex 3D Solid models- e.g. pin, plate, stampings, molded parts
- Applies data re-use methodologies - Seed models, Power-copies, master geometry to ensure efficiency
- Maintains appropriate CAD data documentation in Windchill PDM system
- Creates new project CAD & PDM data from existing data - "New From" on multiple files
- PDM/PLM System - Training e.g. Windchill
- Generate & Modify 2D and 3D drawings for mechanical parts and assemblies using CATIA V5
- CATIA workbench/process mastery:
- Basics/Intro to CATIA
- Sketcher
- Part Design
- Assembly Design
- CATIA Scenes
- 2D Drafting
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED, etc.)
- Additional college or technical school education required
- Mechanical Aptitude, sense of 3D design
- Basic understanding of key engineering procedures/processes (ISO, Milestone).
- Builds good cross-functional relationships with internal and external customers
- Skilled in using job-related systems and equipment
- Awareness of Model Shop support capabilities.
- Understands ramifications of design changes on products/systems/operations - bubble up of change
- Understands high volume manufacturing processes, I.e., moldings, castings and stampings
- Experience with various manufacturing process including injection molding, die casting, & stamping tooling design preferred
- Good organization and communication skills. Ability to work with more than one engineer and handle
