This position is located in Livermore, California.Position Purpose Albertsons Safeway is looking for a dynamic QA Engineer who is technical and understands the big picture. You will be working on exciting Retail Projects that frequently create new experiences for the customers and retail associates. The bar for delivering high quality applications is high. Your test plans are strategic. You dive deep but also ensure full end-to-end testing coverage. You have test automation experience to improve testing efficiency. You take pride in your work and enjoy finding defects and narrowing down issues. You have solid verbal and written communication skills. You can work with team members onshore and offshore. You work effectively with Program Management and Development. You have a passion for quality. You deeply care about the end user experience.Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for all the application quality deliverables within one or more projects
  • Leads quality analysis and test plan creation within projects and assists colleagues as applicable
  • Works closely with the stakeholders to understand goals, requirements, and the architecture of the project(s)
  • Ensures that the Performance Test Lead is looped into the project (if applicable)
  • Develops and reviews the Test Plan with project or product stakeholders
  • Develops and documents corresponding test cases and requirement matrix
  • Follows testing standards and best practices
  • Exercises excellent analytical, debugging skills
  • Communicates risk and mitigation plans for the project(s) in relation to the quality deliverables
  • Helps resolve issues/remove roadblocks for the project test team and/or escalates accordingly
  • Provides regular quality status updates to stakeholders
  • Tracks test case execution status and manages defects within Jira
  • Coordinates defect resolution with development stakeholders and represents test team during triage meetings
Qualifications:
  • 4-year degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, or relational functional field) and/or equivalent combination of education or work experience
  • 4+ years of Retail / POS Systems testing experience is a MUST (Toshiba IBM 4690 experience preferred)
  • Unix, MQ, web-based and Data migration testing experience is preferred
  • Mainframe and ETL testing experience are a PLUS
  • Experience with authoring and executing test plans and test cases
  • Understands and uses testing methodologies and processes
  • Experience with the full software development lifecycle and development methodologies (Waterfall and Agile)
  • Experience with Jira for test case development/execution, and defect tracking
  • Good organizational and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail
  • Passion for quality
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to learn beyond formal training and a strong aptitude for delivering quality.
  • Experience effectively leveraging tools such as Jira and Eggplant Test Automation Software is a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 suite of products
  • Experienced with retail, sales and service industries business needs and blending them with package-based solutions to meet all the variety of IT needs.
  • Experienced in requirement gathering and estimating the hours of work based on the requirements from the client and maintaining the quality documents for all the work leveraging best practices throughout the project and test cycle
  • Possess knowledge on Hardware technology and software applications such as TCx 700 POS system, SurePos ACE, TCx Sky Operating System, Self-Checkout Verifone and Ingenico Pin Pads, EMV/Credit/ Debit/WIC/ EBT/ EFT/ Gift Card, Apple Pay Contactless technologies, Loyalty card technologies, Dresser Wayne Fuel Systems
Desirable:
  • Experience of payment processing flows including:
    • credit and FSA processing
    • debit, check, EBT, eWic and Prepaid processing
  • Strong understanding of EMV message tag knowledge
  • Experience with Brant Test Tool (EMV Terminal Certification)
  • Good experience with Python
  • Experience with payment certification methodologies tools; SIM and Collis Tool
