job summary:The IT Systems Engineer Senior is a senior level position working under minimal supervision and is responsible for providing and supporting the technical infrastructure, platforms and systems that support the company's business capabilities. As a highly trained and experienced technology specialist, ensures infrastructure availability, leads projects, troubleshoots issues and researches new methods and systems of assigned infrastructure. Participates as a project resource working with Project Management Offices and other areas within IT to define project tasks, estimate and coordinate work efforts between groups, resolve or escalate issues, provide status updates on assigned deliverables and test and implement solutions. Works on problems of diverse scope and moderate to high complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Serves as an escalation point for lower levels. location: Mayfield Village, Ohiojob type: Contractsalary: $55 - 65 per hourwork hours: 8am to 4pmeducation: Associates responsibilities:- Aptitude and willingness to learn and document technology/processes.- Experience working in an environment with multiple support vendors.- Effective written and verbal communications.- Customer support experience in a support role.- Familiarity with safe working best practices.- Receiving/shipping of hardware to the bunker. That would include receiving of cabling, larger shipments, etc. to the data center.- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Technical Skills in Order of Importance1. IT Skillso Familiar with enterprise ticketing system (Remedy).o Demonstrated ability to install key components in equipment (line cards, NICS, memory).o Understanding of physical and virtual connections in a data centero Demonstrated troubleshooting abilities, diagnose and resolve problems with computer equipment (physical and virtual).2. Data Center - Infrastructureo Basic knowledge of common items in a data center (Servers, Storage, Networking Gear, Mainframe) and how they interconnect.o Understanding and ability install computer equipment (rack and stack blades, appliances, etc.) along with defined copper/fiber cabling per manufacturers requirements for power consumption, weight and air flow standardso Ability to read, understand and maintain elevation drawings.o Ability to use testing equipment; fiber testers, copper tester, common hand tools, power tools (hand held drill), server lift.o Adherence to asset management practices. qualifications:- Experience level: Entry Level
