OverviewGDC IT Solutions is currently seeking a

Technology Support Specialist in the

Hanover, PAarea.

Position OverviewIn this role, you will provide technical software, hardware and network problem resolutions to computer users by performing question/problem diagnosis and guiding users through step-by-step solutions; clearly communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly, professional manner; provide end-user training as needed; assist Technology Staff; conduct hardware and software inventory and reporting; create user accounts and perform related work as required.

Responsibilities
  • Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves technical issues for users of the network; communicates solutions to end-users.
  • Delivers, tags, sets up, trains, installs, and assists in the configuration of end-user PC desktop hardware, software and peripherals.
  • Coordinates timely repair of equipment covered by third-party vendor maintenance agreements.
  • Creates materials for end-user training and frequently asked questions (FAQs).
  • Provide hands-on training and assistance in technology through demonstration.
  • Provide computer hardware, installation, configuration and troubleshooting for the end-users.
  • Support applications for use within the environment.
  • Acts as a technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems with equipment and data.
  • Handles purchase orders and receiving for the technology department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in technology in public education or the public sector, preferred. High school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • Hands-on experience in technology in public education or private sector.
  • Must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be cooperative, congenial and customer service oriented Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions Ability to handle confidential information.

Preferred Experience
  • Associates degree in computer technology or equivalent experience is necessary Certification in specialized areas of technology
