SUMMARY Seeking an outstanding candidate to join the team responsible for the industry leading computational electromagnetic (CEM) engines in the gold standard ANSYS HFSS simulation software product. We welcome applicants with strong background in various CEM techniques with special focus on domain decomposition (DDM) techniques and general finite element methods (FEM). The successful candidate will have a solid background in scientific software development, the ability to develop novel solution approaches, and experience in the application of scientific principles to analyzing problems. The R&D Engineer II contributes to the development of software products and supporting systems. In this role, the R&D Engineer II will collaborate with a team of expert professionals to understand customer requirements and accomplish development objectives. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs moderately complex development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems
- Understands and employs best practices
- Performs moderately complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions
- Understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues
- Works under the general supervision of a development manager
- BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 2 years' experience or MS
- Working experience with software development process that require design and implementations of new solver algorithms in C
- Knowledge offinite element methods (FEM) or boundary element method (BEM)
- PhD in Engineering, or related field, or MS in Engineering, or related field with 2 years' experience
- Deep knowledge of electromagnetic theory and CEM
- Technical knowledge and experience with finite element method, domain decomposition method, shared and distributed memory parallelization (OpenMP/ MPI)
- Experience in a large-scale commercial software development environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
