Summary / Role Purpose The R&D Engineer II will contribute to the development of internal tools used to automate testing of Ansys software and quality processes andassistdevelopment teams in performing automated application security testing to ensure secure coding practices and standards are followed. Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitatestimelydetection and resolution of security vulnerabilities in third-party and open-source software
  • Assistsin the design and implementation of security solutions
  • Facilitates promotion and training of development staff in secure coding practices
  • Performs moderately complex development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems
  • Understands and employs best practices
  • Performs moderately complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products.Researchesproblems discovered byQAor product support anddevelopssolutions
  • Understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues
  • Works under the general supervision of a development manager
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
  • BS inComputerEngineering, Computer Science, or related field with 2 years' experience or MS
  • Working experience with software design and development methodologies
  • Technical knowledge and experience with object-oriented design in C# or Java
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Technical knowledge and experience withone or more scripting languages, ASP.NET web development, SQL databases and REST APIs
  • Knowledge and experience working with automated SAST and SCA scanning tools such as Coverity and FlexNet Code Insight
  • Experience integrating security tools within CI/CD models
  • Familiarity with source code and build management tools such as Git and Azure DevOps
  • Experience in a large-scale commercial software development environment
