Potential for Remote Work: NoDescription JOB DESCRIPTION: SAIC is seeking a Data Center Management Engineer with strong verbal and written communication skills, to support physically separated customers and teammates in a federal government agency. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: The successful applicant will function as an oversight Point of Contact (POC) for the planning, allocation, and utilization of Power, Space, and Cooling (P/S/C) resources within an Intelligence Community (IC) customer's data centers. The candidate will be responsible for shaping and supporting evolving customer requirements. Applicants are expected to have an in-depth knowledge of data center operations, be able to identify and mitigate data center issues, create strategic plans that focus on expanding data center operations, and lead physical device migration efforts. The successful candidate will represent the team and the customer at various configuration and requirements boards. The candidate must be proficient in using multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio etc. The candidate will write and edit technical documentation, create and review standard operating procedures and presentations, and review other technical documentation for impacts to the space, power, and cooling resources available within the data centers. Employees working onsite at a customer location must comply with customer requirements which may include mandatory vaccination, mandatory attestation regarding one's vaccination status and mandatory weekly or bi-weekly testing.Qualifications TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience. Sufficient experience may be considered in lieu of education. EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES/CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Data Centre Technician Professional (DCTP)
  • Data Centre Design Professional (DCDP)
  • Data Centre Energy Practitioner (DCEP)
  • Certified data center professional (e.g., BICSI)
  • Experience creating and implementing data center capacity plans, data center renovation plans, and electrical/mechanical expansions that support data center operations
  • Working knowledge of power, space, and cooling mechanisms
  • Management of critical data center maintenance activities
  • Program management of and time spent executing projects
  • Creation and implementation of data center capacity plans, data center renovation plans, and electrical/mechanical expansions
  • Program/Project management time spent executing projects
