Senior Service/Systems Engineer with expertise on Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager

(SCCM).

  • This employee will be a member of the Information Services team and will focus on managing Patch deployment across our Windows Server systems using SCCM.
  • As senior service engineer, you will create modernization roadmap & Architect solutions to meet business and IT needs, ensuring technical viability of new projects and successful deployments.
  • The Senior Engineer is required to have advanced analytical skills, broad knowledge of Infrastructure technologies with specific focus on device/application management in addition to areas of expertise.
  • The successful candidate should have excellent Knowledge in Windows, Active Directory, networking including troubleshooting Windows OS & application issues. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working in an Agile development environment with geographically distributed teams.
  • The environment is fast paced and very dynamic which requires an individual capable of making independent decisions at times without complete knowledge or guidance but doing so in a manner that accounts for industry recognized best practices to help ensure the most positive outcome in a given situation.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
  • Works independently without supervision.
  • Provide expert-level optimization of the Windows Server Operating System configuration to support requirements for clinical and non-clinical services.
  • Research and resolve technical issues related to the Windows Server Operating System and participate/lead problem resolution efforts.
  • Provides technical peer review and consulting services
  • Mentor and coach junior-level team members.
  • Author clear, concise and complete communications for change, incident and problem management.
  • Plan, research, and design solutions in support of strategic plans or clinical/business requirements.
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Engineering, and peers to develop enterprise-wide technical standards and roadmaps.
  • Estimates infrastructure component costs with vendors and internal technology resources for current and proposed projects.
  • Provides direction in developing specifications/requirements for selecting and testing new technologies.
  • Evaluates system designs, provides recommendations to improve performance, security, and functionality.
  • Develops and guides the implementation of solutions that improve information reporting and metrics.
  • Leads root cause analysis on Windows Server Operating System related problems.
  • Creates and maintains internal training materials to provide training to appropriate information systems staff for procedures, processes and knowledge transfer.
  • Assists in budgeting activities for Enterprise projects, department capital and operational budgets, feasibility studies and cost/benefit analysis.
  • Participates in the development and adherence to project schedules.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices related to the Windows Server Operating System.
  • Monitor, respond to, and remediate alerts associated with the Windows Server Operating System.
  • Patch the Windows Server Operating System and remediate security vulnerabilities related to the Windows Server Operating System.

Required qualifications for this position include:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent education/experience.
  • 5 years related experience.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:
  • Certified MCSE
  • Experience with deploying applications & security updates
  • Experience with device management solutions like System center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
