The Director of Neuroscience assists in the growth and development of the
Neuroscience Service Line in the Austin Region.
The Director develops and implements an integrated model of care focused
on improving the health of the communities served. The leader enhances business development
efforts for the Neuroscience Service Line.
The Director works collaboratively across the system to ensure the
service line goals are met.Essential Functions:Develop and
implement strategic and business plans to grow the neuroscience programAssists in establishing
governance structure for regional neuroscience councilEnsures
clinical integration and highest quality care and outcomesSupports
development of clinical and computational neuroscience researchEstablishes goals and budgets to achieve
optimal financial performance, patient, employee and physician satisfaction
targets, policies/procedures and quality outcomes. Participates in leading and managing change
related to initiatives and desired outcomes through communication, management
training and promoting stakeholder buy-in within assigned areas of
responsibility Works with marketing to assess the marketplace
and competitor data. Assists in developing growth plans and presents findings
and recommendations for potential growth to senior management. Promotes a positive customer service culture
which encourages quality patient outcomes and enhances the image of the
institution and promotes staff retention Implements and maintains operational
excellence through cost, quality and service management.Coordinates communication between departments, services and
hospitals to ensure the goals and objective are met.Develops and implements strategic business
plan for the services.Creates a clear plan and monitors performance
for the growth of service line.Assists with efforts to streamline processes
and increase volume. Creates monitoring systems to develop benchmarks for best
practices.Responsible for financial data monitoring and
trending for services. Develops an annual Neuroscience profit and Loss and
drives improvements and outcomes from such data. Participates in planning activities and
develops strategies for patient services that are consistent with the organizations
mission, vision and values. Assists to ensure that the overall operation
is in compliance with policies and all relevant federal, state and local
regulatory agencies and the Joint Commission standards.Represents BSW to the public, other health
care organizations and professional organizations.
