of safe, effective, cost-efficient patient care as delegated by the RN. They
provide assistance in transporting, transferring and lifting. They perform
cleaning Functions in patient care unit as delegated, and perform selected
diagnostic tests.Position Responsibilities:

Provides directpatient care as delegated by RN staff
Monitors andrecords vital signs
Assists inproviding personal hygiene and physical care needs
Accuratelymeasures, records, and reports intake and output
Obtains andrecords daily weight
Performs bloodglucose testing using blood glucose meter
Reports changesin patient’s status promptly to RN
Performs aspatient care companion when needed
Assists in theadmission, transfer and discharge process
Performs unithousekeeping needs.
Acts as arunner/transporter
Acts asreceptionist for unit; has limited use of the hospital information systemsaccording to hospital policy dependent on the need of unit
Checks anddocuments refrigerator temperatures as delegated, reporting variances toappropriate personnel
Updates assignedbed status
Answers calllights and telephone
Keeps patientenvironment clean
Performs comfortround
Keeps hallwaysclear of obstruction
Reports safetyissues and broken equipment appropriately, and adheres to patient safetyprecautions
Communicates withpatient’s family, physicians, and unit personnel and peers in an accurate,courteous, and professional manner
MinimumQualifications: EducationLevel · High School Diploma/GEDLicensure/Certification · Certified Nurse
Aide· BLSKnowledge,Skills, and Abilities · Effective Communication· Critical thinking skills· Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills both written
and verbal· Basic Computer skills – familiarity with Windows based
software programsExperience · One year direct
