This is US Department of Defense funded research, and will last approximately 2.0 years. Responsibilities

Conduct research involving finite element analysis of impact on composite armor system using LS Dyna and Abaqus software

Perform multiscale finite element modeling of impact on composite armor

Manufacturing and impact testing of composite armor

Writing progress report for sponsor, grant proposal development

Prepare manuscripts for publication of research results

Attend and participate in group meeting

Provide the PI/CoPI with all the models developed and data generated

Prepare and submit to the PI a monthly technical progress report

Work with graduate, undergraduate students, technicians, faculty and collaborators involved in the project

Assist undergraduate and graduate researchers to develop their finite element models, manufacture and testing composite armor

Perform other duties as required

This position will be renewed on a half yearly basis subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum period of 2 years. The researcher must commit to work at least 1 year. The salary will be $50K-$60K/ year.The post-doc will be based at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Kingsville, Texas. The department’s enrollment is about 500 students.
