Staff Accountant

Preparing and posting daily/monthly journal entries.

Preparing and maintaining summary spreadsheets of financial information.

Assisting in the balancing and reconciliation of the general ledger and subsidiary accounts and summarizing and compiling reports based upon transactions.

Preparing recurring journal entries and accruing monthly expenses to ensure most appropriate representation of data on the general ledger.

Assisting auditors in their examination of accounting records by providing accurate financial data.

Assist with month end and year end close.

Serves as back-up for accounting department functions (A/P, A/R, simulcast accounting).

Prepares ad hoc reports for management review when requested.

Assists other departments with accumulation and summarization of data.

Maintains backup files, both electronic and paper, as required.

Performs other related duties that may be assigned.

Maintains strict confidentiality in all company matters.

To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Accounting from accredited four-year college or university required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

0-2 years of related experience.

Knowledge of principles of financial reporting and account classificatio

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.

Must have strong written and verbal communication skills; must be fluent and literate in English.

Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
