What you’ll be doing This position is required to provide engineering support for the OCS suite of services nationally, including Prepaid, Usage Control, Account Group Share, Real Time Reporting, eSM, eCGS, D/R Routers, M2M, and SRPs. OCS is a multi-departmental national platform comprised of 100+ network elements. The designs for OCS require in-depth knowledge of the hardware, software, and call flows. The MTS-IV Consultant is responsible for the execution and implementation of feature designs, engineering support of the OCS network elements, services, capacity and demand, and execution of the POR (Plan of Record).This position will be responsible for managing multiple projects, heavily involved in migrating applications from bare metal to VCP core.Provide direction on technical design issues and manage to resolution any variances identified.Work independently with minimal supervision, while keeping management and project team fully aware of implementation schedule progress.Learn and maintain operational excellence. The engineer is expected to identify and bring to management’s attention areas of improvement as the deployment evolves.The MTSIV Cslt responsibilities include:

Broad and extensive knowledge of platforms that vary in technology, brand and vendor support. Management/Ownership of all aspects of environment maintenance and supportability designs that enable the Operations team to support the platform.

Independently interfacing with multiple vendors, project teams and resources within various platforms. Through the expertise of policies, procedures and technical requirements for each of the vendors and platforms, the specialist will ensure that environments meet the high standards of Verizon network elements.

Implement plans for migrating to VCP core and manage a variety of technical functions resources to deliver sound design, rather than merely executing routine tasks for older, well-defined platform.

What we’re looking for You’ll need to have:

Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

A degree in computer science, mathematics, or any other related discipline.

Two or more years of experience working for a network Eng/Ops/Dev team.

Experience working with Openstack, Linux, and/or Python.

Experience working with 3G and 4G call flows and wireless network applications.

Experience working with Nokia hardware.

Experience with project management.

Experience with multiple/hybrid cloud environments.
