Maintains good customer service by accepting prescriptions or refill requests, processing sales and answering questions for customers. Achieves customer satisfaction by promptly processing prescriptions, sales transactions, and answering questions. Other duties include stocking and pricing over the counter (OTC) items, maintaining the OTC areas, processing clinic medication requisitions, and other duties as required by the pharmacist.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS(A = basics; B = preferred)EducationA.High school diploma or GED from an accredited programCompletion of Technician training programB.ExperienceA.Minimum 2-4 years retail pharmacy experience OrCompletion of an Accredited Pharmacy Technician ProgramB.HMO’s and 3rd party managed care experienceLicensesA.TSBP registered.B.PTCB CertificationCommunicationA.To read merchandise labels and invoices; to ask and answer questions over the phone; to write information on prescriptions. Able to communicate with customers to handle complaints and problems. B.Know when to refer questions, problems, and complaints to a pharmacist.Special SkillsA.Operate computer terminal for processing prescriptions. Math cash handling-able to add and subtract; able to make change; able to complete daily cash report. Type 20wpm. 10 key by touch. Compounding Sterile Products. Must have order entry, purchasing and inventory experience with medications and supplies. B.10 Key by touchOtherA.Stress Tolerance- to receive prescriptions and ring up sales in a fast paced environment.
