Position Summary: ÂLead engineering, specification and project activities for the newly formed Valve Automation Center (VAC). The Automation Applications Engineer will be responsible for developing processes and tools to best specify, quote, book, build and test automated assemblies. Prepare valve automation package sizing and specifications, prepare data sheets and work through MRO and project requirements. Prepare data sheets and drawings for approval and review, along with order checklists, documentation and approvals. Work closely with sales team, training and guiding them in providing automation solutions to customers.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

Provides advanced level of technical support on Brays Automation & Controls products.

Regarded as applications consultant by customers.

Review customer specifications, application details, control schematics and quotations in order to ensure that Brays automation and controls products comply. Prepare quotations and assist customers, outside sales and inside sales with sizing and selection of Bray rotary control valves and automation solutions on Bray and non-Bray valves.

Effectively offers product alternatives for customers based on clear application requirements to best meet customer requirements and to support sales objectives. Acts as information resource for other Inside Sales Representatives.

Defines and draws pneumatic circuits as per customers requirements.

Ensures the timely and correct procurement of pneumatic components.

Develops relationships with pneumatic component suppliers to ensure best pricing and delivery.

Develops and creates a standard BOM and layout for pneumatic packages shipping out of BST/PSI VAC Assist and supervises shop floor on assembly of pneumatic circuits and valve automated packages.

Troubleshooting.Â

Provides technical proposals for A&Cs in an effective and timely manner.

Conduct technical trainings on existing and new A&C product for all internal stake holders.

Continuously researches competitors products and maintain an understanding of their features and benefits relative to Bray products Actively participates in all team meetings to provide feedback on any and all issues that arise during the course of normal work as outlined in this job description. Provides a monthly report to GM and VAC Manager on all open A&C VAC sales orders and opportunities.Â

Qualifications and Core Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

Qualifications: 7+ years experience in valve and automation industry, with direct experience working with pneumatic and electric automation and controls. Bachelors of Science in Engineering.

Core Competencies:Â Strong mechanical and technical aptitude. 2D and 3D CAD skills (AutoCAD and Solidworks). Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment. Understanding of basic electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Excellent communication and good customer service skills. Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications and other related software. Detail orientated, information seeking, willingness to learn, enjoy fast paced team environment. Ability to work under pressure, self-driven, proactive and systematic in approach. Time management and punctual.
