Schedule:Full time - 8am - 4pm - Tuesday through Sunday - days vary

Benefits eligible upon first day employment

What will you do in this role:

Perform basic building and resident apartment maintenance, including: preventative maintenance, basic plumbing, painting, carpentry, HVAC, snow removal, etc.

Perform miscellaneous errands as needed

Interact with residents, families, staff, and other visitors to the community in a pleasant, respectful, and courteous manner

Honor residents’ personal and property rights and maintains the confidentiality of all resident care information

Assist vendors and employees with building access as requested

You have:

Must possess a general knowledge and experience of preventative maintenance, general repairs, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and painting in a professional setting

Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos. Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions in English concerning the mixtures of cleaning compounds, liquids, cleaning instruction, etc.

Knowledge and ability to use household and industrial washers and dryers; knowledge of commercial laundry processes, equipment, and procedures for both washing and drying materials

Willingness to work beyond normal working hours, on weekends, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary

You might also have:

Working experience in hotel, senior living or apartment building setting as a facilities or maintenance technician

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions

Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions (non-weather)

Moderate noise level

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, crawl, and climb for prolonged periods

Ability to push and pull objects and lift and carry up to 65 pounds; frequently lifting about 25lbs

May be exposed to unpleasant odors, contagious diseases and blood borne pathogens

Our communities provide assisted living, assisted living memory care, and skilled nursing

Balfour is a pet-friendly community; you may be exposed to animal hair and dander

Health & Wellness Protocols: Until further notice, interviews will take place virtually. Newly-hired associates will complete Balfour Senior Living's New Hire Orientation virtually, then receive important training about how to keep our residents, and themselves, as healthy as possible. This includes things like hand washing and social distancing. You will also follow wellness protocols developed under guidance of health agencies before entering any of our buildings. If you have any questions regarding the current protocols, please include them in your cover letter or discuss with the Balfour representative who contacts you.
