The Emergency Department Manager is a RN responsible for assisting the unit director in the achievement of the unit goals and objective. In collaboration with the director, the manager assists with counseling and disciplinary process of the nursing and tech staff. They also assist with administrative tasks as assigned by the director that includes, but not limited to, the supervision of staffing and nursing outcomes monitoring. Other aspects of the role include the ability to critically think and intervene in crisis situations.The ED Manager coordinates the nursing care of patients presenting to the ED in order to provide quality patient care to patients. Will be responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the neonate, infant, adolescent, adult and geriatric population.

Assists with establishing departmental goals and objectives that ensure high quality, cost-effective patient care, while working collaboratively to integrate the goals of the unit with those of the facility. Functions as a role model, patient advocate and cost-effective practitioner.The ultimate goal of the position is the improvement and safety of unit operations, patient care and patient outcomes.

The ED Manager will assist in orienting, mentoring and evaluating new staff members and will assist with counseling and disciplinary process of nursing and tech staff. Will complete assigned process improvement audits each month, or as assigned. Other duties as assigned or directed by the unit director and/or WRMC Senior Leadership.We are proud to offer:

CPR - current certification with American Heart Association BLS card at time of hire or completed within one week of hire date. ACLS- current AHA certification or completed within 90 days of hire. Current PALS or ENPC certification or certification within 90 days of hire. NIHSS certified or certification completed within 90 days of hire . Current Crisis Prevention Intervention certification or certified withing 90 days of hire. Current Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum (TNCC) or certified within one year of hire date.
