Take a closer look at our values, and then explore our dynamic career areas to find out what a career at Petco can mean for you.Position Purpose: The Market Services Manager, MSM aides and supports their Market team (MGM, DGM, GMs and Store Partners) and is accountable for assisting in all aspects of the Market Services businesses including partner and guest experience, services staffing and services program implementation. This leader drives his/her business through a focus on the following key result areas which include but are not limited to: Total Services Growth, Grooming Sales, Dog Training, Salon Safety Compliance, Power Rank, Grooming Margin, Vetco, and Turnover.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Partner with the District General Managers across multiple districts to recruit, interview, staff, train and retain all partners within services.

Partner with the District General Managers to collaboratively oversee the Grooming Salon Leader development process. Support the District General Managers around implementing and continuously improving on all the District General Managers’ Grooming Salon Leader’s ability to holistically lead their salon in a manner that delivers our Salon Customer Promise in a high and repeatable level, as well as, deliver the financial expectations for their business.

In partnership with Regional Pet Services Director, Market General Manager and District General Managers create and gain alignment on monthly market area strategies, focused on District and overall Market sales performance, profitability, productivity, and staffing. Partner with DGMs, MGSs and RPSD for regular store visits to support, achieve, and be accountable for overall district and regional goals.

Analyze guest, sales, and cost of sales data, make recommendations to the MGM and DGM based on analysis. Oversee the development of the appropriate course of action to capitalize on the opportunities within their Market. Heavy emphasis on developing DGM/GM acumen around recruiting, staffing, and training.

Communicate and clarify targets to DGMs and store teams.

Co-lead District services staffing action meetings with MGM/RPSD. Ensure all commitments by support and field staff are met.

Co-lead with DGMs district services sales, margin, and productivity action meetings with TGM and RPSD. Ensure all commitments by support and field staff are met.

Partner in the research, evaluation, and the development of new and existing business opportunities that will lead to increased sales and profit in Pet Services.

Drive the implementation of Pet Services sales programs and initiatives through the DGMs and Store Teams related to Grooming, Dog Training, Vetco and Wellness services.

Provide subject matter expertise to DGMs and store partners for the implementation and execution of services objectives in their areas.

Leverage the Grooming Promoter program to instill a sense of pride and ownership of delivering exceptional services experiences to all guests.

Develop and oversee the territory Services maintenance capital and expense planning to ensure all customer touch points are brand correct, partner and animal safety standards are maintained, and Services productivity is optimized.

Provide influential guidance and coaching to store partners and District General Managers relating to the flawless execution of Pet Services standards and expectations across the district.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (including job titles of direct reports):Direct Reports: Vetco Assistant Market Manager (AMMs)WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL ABILITIES: The majority of job duties are performed while indoors at various store locations. Exposure to hazards is minimal if appropriate safety procedures are followed when handling equipment, products and animals. Approximately 80% of the time (4 days per week) requires regular travel throughout assigned area. Education and Experience:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, ability and/or physical demands required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred. Will consider directly related experience in lieu of education. Fifteen years progressively responsible retail experience is required including five to seven years of previous progressively responsible retail management experience that includes multi-unit leadership. Excellent interpersonal, customer service and analytical skills are required.
