Responsibilities
Lineman C perform work on secondary voltages up to 600 volts
Lineman B perform work on energized primary lines
Lineman A install, maintain and repair distribution facilities of all types
Operate and install cutouts, line switches, recloses and other sectionalizing devices
Refuse line and transformer devices, test de-energized lines and equipment and remove grounds
Investigate consumer complaints and make repairs to energized electrical distribution lines
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors
Education, Skills, Experience Needed
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum 2 years’ experience in the electrical services industry required
Completion of an accredited apprentice program is preferred
CDL class A license preferred; must acquire CDL beginners permit within 60 days
Possession of climbing tools preferred
Proficiency in climbing and performing top pole rescues
Ability to read and understand minimum approach distances
Desire to learn and commitment to doing quality work while putting safety first
Working Environment
Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment
Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination
Requirements
Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify
Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record is required
Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card
