Eliassen Group is seeking a System Engineer to perform duties in our data telemetry platform, New Relic and our infrastructure monitoring tool, Site 24x7. You will have experience supporting and deploying service level indicators for systems that are highly available. Daily responsibilities also include configuring servers, virtualizing servers, backups, upgrading server OS's, and supporting an on-going cloud migration.This is a permanent role that will be worked remotely to start. There will be a hybrid remote schedule implemented sometime in Q1/Q2 2022. All interviews will take place virtually.
Responsibilities of the System Engineer:- Lead continuous monitoring improvement program facilitating retrospectives, historical reporting, alerting, application, infrastructure, and service metrics
- Collaborate with development and product teams to ensure critical services are monitored to provide service level indicator metrics
- Correlate telemetry data trends across infrastructure and application systems
- Build dashboards and reports to highlight uptime and service reliability
- Install and configure monitoring software for Windows, Linux, and Kubernetes environments
- Build automation and repeatable scripts to efficiently execute tasks
- Experience implementing and configuring both infrastructure and application monitoring tools
- Experience with telemetry data platforms like New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana
- Proficient with Windows and Linux operating systems: Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, CentOS7, RHEL 7
- Extensive experience with installation/setup/administration of configuration management support tools
- Working knowledge of VMWare vSphere/ESXi
- Working knowledge of AWS EC2 operations and support
- Technical knowledge of common network protocols/services to allow for interaction with the Network Operations Team on network configuration specially related to load balancing clustered front-end services
