Peraton is looking for a proactive Sr. Principal Cyber Software Engineer in McLean, Virginia, to join our team of dedicated professionals supporting ongoing research focused on conventional and strategic military forces.As a Software Engineer, you will:
  • Design, develop, document, test and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
  • Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
  • Determine computer user needs; analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepare operating instructions; design and develop compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
  • Ensure software standards are met.

Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship and TS/SCI with polygraph clearance
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or other related technical discipline and nine years of related experience (industry-recognized certifications or 5 additional years of relevant work experience in technical support will be considered in lieu of a degree.)
  • Four years of relevant experience in:
  • Developing and maintaining Oracle database systems and Java applications.
  • Refining database (such as Oracle) analytic query handling capabilities, to include the use of mapping packages.
  • Operating and maintaining a web-based database system.
  • Providing customer support and technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SQL and Java.
  • Demonstrated ability to trouble shoot issues related to data migration.
  • Ability to update technical documents and training manuals.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with federal information security requirements.
  • Familiarity with information management systems used by the customer and IC, including but not limited to Intelink, NGT, Intellipedia, GoogleEarth, IntelMapper, Arc View.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide training to non-IT personnel.
  • Strong customer service skills.
