Overview GM Financial is seeking curious, talented and creative marketing software development engineers. The Marketing Software Development Engineer (SDE) II will be part of GM's vision to create a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, and Zero Congestion. You will be on the development team responsible for developing on the Adobe Experience Cloud platform. You'll learn a lot about how we are leveraging cutting edge marketing technology in the auto finance industry. In this role, we expect you to have an expert knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager and working knowledge of the Adobe Experience Cloud ecosystem. You will be a core resource on the engineering team. You will also serve as a mentor to SDE I's. Our workstreams that you may work on include but are not limited to our US and International marketing websites, MyAccount portal, End of Lease microsite, and Online Credit Application. You'll work alongside our Marketing, User Experience, Analytics, and Digital IT teams in a scrum environment. Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES
  • Develop new user-facing features, components, and templates
  • Develop features with a major focus on performance, scalability and future expansion
  • Develop reusable code and libraries
  • Develop unit tests and automated testing scripts
  • Ensure the technical and business user feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices

Qualifications

Knowledge
  • Solid understanding of front-end development
  • Solid understanding of computer science data structures and algorithms
  • Solid understanding of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM 60+) development or solid understanding of Enterprise Content Management Systems development (WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Sitecore, Kentico, or Craft)
  • Solid understanding of build tools (Maven preferred, Gradle, Gulp, Grunt, Webpack, NPM)
  • Solid understanding of JavaScript Single Page Application Frameworks (Angular preferred, React, Vue)
  • Solid understanding of back-end development
  • Solid understanding of consuming REST APIs and SOAP Webservices
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Working knowledge of typical DevOps procedures
  • Working knowledge of test-driven development and automated testing frameworks (Cucumber, Selenium, Gherkin)
  • Working knowledge of native app development (iOS and Android)

Skills
  • Front End Development Skills: HTML, CSS (LESS/SCSS), JavaScript (Vanilla, jQuery, TypeScript)
  • Back End Development Skills: Java, PHP
  • AEM Development Skills: HTL/Sightly, OSGI, Sling, JCR, TouchUI Dialog creation and Dispatcher configuration
  • Administration/Operations/Debugging Skills: OS (RHEL7x), server (Apache) and applications (AEM) issues
  • Automation Skills: Ansible/Chef/Puppet
  • Ability and interest to learn other coding languages
  • Ability to think strategically and make collaborative decisions
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education
  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience required

Experience
  • 2-4 years of software development experience required
