- Will be responsible for requirements analysis, High Level Design, Low Level Design and complex code development
- May provide technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives
- Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource.
- Communicates with line of business and management the overall status and health of the application.
- Excellent communication skills. Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical partners
- Understand the organization's overall strategies, how the business operates and more importantly what drives success in the business
- Must be willing and able to express new ideas, concerns and opinions directly to wider team in team meetings face-to-face and via remote-working tools
- May collaborate with external programmers to coordinate delivery of software application
- Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities.
- Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants
- Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
- 5+ years of experience in software design , development & maintaining critical Mainframe applications
- In-depth knowledge of COBOL, JCL, CA7, CICS, DB2, SQL, VSAM
- 5+ years of experience with code quality, code review, static analysis and unit test tools
- Hands on IBM IDz experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to break down requirements and find efficient solutions
- Good written and verbal communication skills for technical and business conversations
- Be able to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with team members and tech/business partners
- Strong attention to detail and follow up
- Ability to prioritize competing demands
- Able to work as a W2 employee (no Corp-to-Corp)
- Mainframe DevOps experience
- Mainframe Modernization experience such as converting to ETL, Java, Tableau etc.
- Knowledge of message and transmission protocols such as MQ, NDM and sFTP
- Knowledge of CICS Webservices
- Experience with DFSORT, ICETOOL and other utility programs
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other information systems related fields
- Ability to gain a broad knowledge of the system; triage issues; engage appropriate development resources, provide guidance to production support teams during any issues
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodology, Horizon/JIRA, and Kanban
