Survey Instrument Operator/Technician
Position Responsibilities
Assist the Crew Chief with daily operations including; Boundary, Topographic and As-built Surveys; and Construction Layout
Work as a member of a survey crew performing boundary, topography, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveys for public and private clients.
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of survey equipment, taking field notes, data collection.
Operate the equipment necessary to collect information in an accurate manner and locate points in the proper location for accurate mapping practices.
Assist the field supervisor with all aspects of the daily crew workload.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience with survey equipment and standard survey procedures
Operate standard office equipment such as personal computer and copy machine
Ability to manage time effectively and meet project delivery dates
Detail oriented
Valid driver's license
High school diploma or equivalent required
Talk, hear, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach
Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds occasionally
Beneficial
Competence with optical and digital instruments as well as handheld controllers and Data Collectors
Associates or Technical Degree preferred
1 - 5 years of experience, preferred
Previous topographic and boundary survey experience, preferred
First-aid
