Solidus is searching for an Engineering Technician to work side-by-side with technicians, mechanical and electrical engineers, and scientists to support the design, assembly, and test of spacecraft components and space sensors.Responsibilities: - Support laboratory instrumentation test activities, including test setups, data acquisition, and basic data analysis (as guided by engineering or science staff); this also includes thermal/vacuum testing - Provide support to parts procurement, engineering analysis, and manufacturing staff to support lifecycle of electronics design - Support documentation efforts - Conduct routine board level assembly and test, providing feedback to the responsible mechanical and electrical engineers as applicable - Complete assigned tasks both with and without direct supervision and work on multiple tasks in parallel - Contribute as a member of a strong instrument development team within an existing group environment - Position may require additional hours to meet project schedulesRequirements: - U.S. Citizen - Subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements - BS degree in Electronics Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology or relevant experience - Experience with assembly of complex analog and digital circuits using engineering documentation - Experience troubleshooting and testing of complex analog and digital electronics - Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, mechanisms, electronics, electro-mechanical systems, test instrumentation, measurement instrumentation, vacuum systems, and/or clean rooms - Experience in or an interest in working with space hardware under an established quality management system (such as ISO 9001) - Position will require completion of the following NASA certifications: soldering; Crimping, Interconnecting Cable Harness and Wiring; and Staking & Conformal Coating of Printed Wiring Boards and Electronic Assemblies - Valid/clear driver's licenseReq ID: 4161Applicants selected must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
