If interested, please send resume to Dylan Hatanelas at Position Overview As a Cloud Data Architect, you'll play a pivotal role in the design, development and implementation of new data platform initiation initiative. The goal of this initiative is to provide an enterprise-wide data infrastructure foundation that will supply the business with high quality, certified data sets that will support and enable the future of the business. Working with a cross-functional team of architects, you'll help craft a vision for the project as a whole as well as it's specific components such as data lake, cloud data warehouse, streaming and ingestion systems, etc. This is a unique opportunity to help lead a transformation from a traditional on-prem infrastructure to a cloud-based enterprise data platform that will serve as the foundation for the next 5-10 years of digital transformation efforts at Kiewit.Responsibilities
- Drive analysis, design, development and implementation of the data platform initiative and its key components including data warehouses, data lakes, ingestion, and movement
- Help establish, evangelize, and maintain the vision and roadmap for the Data Platform Initiative
- Develop the transition plans and roadmaps to migrate from our legacy infrastructure and systems to the new architecture
- Work with the data engineering team, data scientists, data analysts, and business partners to understand various data needs and implement scalable platform-wide solutions
- Provide forward-thinking technology leadership in developing innovative solutions with a strong emphasis on continual improvement in automating our infrastructure and software release processes
- Mentor junior technology team members in best practices, technical options, and expediting technical solutions
- Document and communicate complex concepts effectively to a diverse group of stakeholders
- 7+ years of experience in designing/architecting and maintaining enterprise data systems
- Strong experience with data warehouses, enterprise data movement technologies such as Informatica, ETL/ELT tools, and analytics platforms such as Power BI
- Significant experience designing, developing, implementing and/or operating cloud infrastructure environments in one of the three major cloud providers: Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform
- Experience with Teradata and BTEQ scripting is preferred
- Extensive experience working with data using SQL, particularly in Microsoft databases and environments
- Previous experience working with modern cloud data technologies such as Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, Databricks, etc. is a big plus
- Knowledge of and experience with Machine Learning platforms, tools, and libraries is preferred
- Previous experience aligning technology roadmaps with strategic business goals and initiatives
- Proven ability to develop great relationships with co-workers, credibility with leadership, and rapport for getting things done with stakeholders
- Experience with multiple relational and NO SQL databases
- Ability to set technical direction for a project or application
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
