How You'll Make an ImpactThe Quality & Reliability Engineer is responsible for managing centralized US-CAN laboratory information management system (LIMS) across eight manufacturing sites and corporate functions. Works seamlessly with operations, site quality laboratories, corporate R&D, and project management to ensure product changes and new product launches are executed successfully. In addition, this individual will be an integral member of a dedicated quality team responsible for product quality assurance, process improvement, management of field quality issues, and product and process excellence using data analysis and problem-solving with industry best practices. In the role, you would be responsible for:- Supporting and improving the company's quality processes and systems to advance efficiency, reliability, and performance
- Collaborating and coordinating with corporate functions such as R&D/ technology, global quality, and project management for successful product changes and new product launches
- Collaborating and coordinating with manufacturing and US-CAN site quality labs for successful product changes and new product launches
- On-going data analysis and reporting in quality categories such as first pass yield, process capability, etc
- Coordinating global round robin testing 2x/ year and subsequent data analysis
- Coordinating global measurement systems analysis (ie: gage repeatability and reproducibility "gage R&R studies) 2x/ year and subsequent data analysis
- Creating documents, such as work instructions, training documentation, etc
- Root cause analysis and problem solving
- Some travel for site visits, training, or annual or mid-year meetings, etc
- Others tasks at the discretion of Valvoline
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
- Minimum 2 years quality engineer experience
- Minimum 5 years manufacutring experience with excellent computer and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel)
- Experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Chemical engineering degree
- Quality certifications (ex: ASQ, CQE, CSSBB, etc)
- Tier 1 automotive experience
- Experience with IATF 16949 automotive standard
- Mini-tab experience
- Experience in Lean/ Six sigma methodology
- Experience with developing Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and manufacturing control plans
- Experience using laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
- Experience using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Oracle, etc
