POSITION SUMMARY: Coordinate the activities of drivers to maximize productivity, while assuring prompt and effective service to customers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assigns drivers to locations for hauling loads.

Courteously interacts with customers and/or the general public.

Updates, prepares and dispenses the daily schedule.

Communicates regularly with Terminal Supervisors for updated needs at various facilities.

Re-routes trucks to various locations through out the day for fluctuations in volumes.

Reports driver problems to appropriate department or supervisor for resolution.

Maintains dispatch or service log to document pick-ups.

Ensures he has updated information on tonnage at each facility.

Ensures trucks are assigned/dispatched to adhere to contract obligations in a timely manner.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
