We are looking for a full-time

Manager Cyber Security (Offensive) to lead our Offensive Security Team from our headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will lead our global offensive security team to define programs and implement tools necessary to mature our offensive capabilities to keep pace with the evolving threat landscape. You will be responsible for managing a highly capable team of cyber security engineers and creating the strategies, goals, processes, and alignment needed to continuously test and improve the security of Garmin's diverse portfolio of infrastructure, systems and products. The Cyber Security Manager must display proficiency and technical knowledge of cybersecurity pertaining to IoT devices, threats, web and mobile applications, and be capable of identifying weak spots in a system's defenses which attackers could exploit. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Crafting high impact Offensive Operations that effectively assess our runtime defenses using quality threat intelligence and adversarial experience
  • Guiding, developing, documenting and assessing pen testing efforts against the NIST framework to provide repeatable and measurable workflow
  • Defining, documenting, and following structured processes to conduct comprehensive ethical hacking engagements.
  • Developing and maintaining long-term strategic plans based on operational lessons learned and Threat Intelligence inputs
  • Creating Red and Purple team products for stakeholder and cyber organizational consumption
  • Effectively communicating with stakeholders at all levels within the organization to ensure cyber security risks are mitigated within the environment
  • Having awareness and comprehension of potential threats and appropriate countermeasures to inform risk treatment plans, relevant standards and testing processes
  • Providing leadership, guidance, and coaching to team members to improve the overall capabilities of the team
  • Participating in the drafting and enhancement of security policy
  • Providing relevant and accurate KPIs in alignment to industry and Garmin standards
  • Assessing the capabilities of the cyber security team and designing appropriate training plans in accordance with industry and Garmin standards
  • Demonstrating broad understanding of Garmin's business model, including Engineering, Operations, Finance, Sales and Marketing
Qualifications - External Qualified candidates possess a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or other relevant field

AND a minimum of 7 years relevant experience, including 2 years of leadership experience as a Cyber Security professional.

Other requirements include:
  • An in-depth understanding of industry-trusted infrastructure and application penetration tools
  • An in-depth understanding of security, infrastructure, software development, and application technologies
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a small team setting
  • A team-oriented, positive attitude
  • Proven success in solving complex problems
  • Excellent time management and follow-up skills
  • Consistent quality and effectiveness in work documentation and organization
  • Previous experience in management or leadership
