Here you'll find support to develop, united in a clear and common purpose with a diverse team.About the RoleAs a Database Administrator you will perform application and systems operational duties to implement solutions for Critical and High incidents in order to correct immediate problems and eliminate future occurrences. This position will give you the opportunity to collaborate with architects, developers, and product teams and support customers in the development of applications for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.The primary desired work location for this position is Kansas City. We offer employees the flexibility to work from home up to 80% of the time. Key Activities:
- Collaborate with architects and product teams to ensure that the designed solution responds to non-functional requirements.
- Perform Database Management System design using data modeling tools.
- Create database objects such as tables, views, stored procedures, triggers, sequences, constraints, and rules.
- Troubleshoot problems and provides resolution, including SQL tuning, solving performance and/or connectivity issues, fixing corrupt indexes, restoring corrupt databases from backup, and assisting developers with repairing corrupted data.
- Identify tasks and estimates as appropriate for business line support.
- Create documentation for standards, design, support, implementation, and troubleshooting of databases and database management systems.
- Write job scripts using operating system commands to execute sequential procedures.
- Provide first level problem resolution support to customers, including SQL tuning and solving performance and/or connectivity problems.
- Create, manage, and implement project plans.
- Perform Database management system design using data modeling tools.
- Collaborate with developers to develop designs for database objects and SQL queries for the application and execute data migration scripts.
- Typically requires at least 3 years of relevant experience. Six years or more relevant experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree specializing in a related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience.
- Intermediate understanding of subject. Performs most work independently with general supervision and direction.
- Incumbent must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless the Bank grants an accommodation based on a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief.
