Location: Oklahoma City, OK Description: Our client is currently seeking a Design and Analysis EngineerThis job will have the following responsibilities:

  • The C-17 platform is a mature airlifter for air forces of the United States and allied countries.
  • This position plays an important role in ensuring that C-17 aircraft continue to be a highly reliable, and provide advanced capability.
  • This position is responsible for maintenance and repair of the Avionics/Flight Controls simulation laboratories for the C-17 program.
  • These laboratories are systems and software development and test facilities for actual and simulated LRU (Line Replaceable Unit) integration and test.
  • The candidate will be responsible for the troubleshooting and design support of the test facility, integration and test of aircraft/simulation software and hardware, and executing test procedures. Interfacing with design engineers will be vital.
  • Candidate will have to be able to operate the C-17 lab equipment for trouble shooting in a test or maintenance environment.
  • The candidate should have experience/interest in aircraft and in the data busses that are typical with aircraft avionics such as ARIC 818 and 1553.
  • Familiarization/understanding of avionics systems, simulation, and the general workings of aircraft/aerospace systems is required.
  • Practical troubleshooting skills are a must.
  • Experience in an avionics laboratory environment is a plus. The ability to work off-shift and weekends on short notice is also required at times.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field of study
  • Experience with aircraft Systems Integration such as avionics and flight controls
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex avionics test systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience with any of the following is desired:
  • C-17 operations, and data systems
  • Working with commercial communication standards such as 1553, RS422, and Ethernet
Education: Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
