Kelly is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer for our client in Saint Paul, MN for a 2+month contract to hire. Pay: $Negotiable/hour (W-2) Type: Contract W2-There is no "per diem" with this position. There is no relocation budgeted for this position. If this position requires you to relocate you will be responsible for those costs. NO C2C, at this time we are not in the position to offer any type of sponsorships or VISA transfers for this position. Contract Length: Immediately to 3/27/2022 Contract to Hire Location: Saint Paul, MN Job Description:

  • Collaborates across the networking, security, data, platform, and product delivery teams to provide "highly aligned, loosely coupled" solutions, as well as implement devops patterns and automation across the enterprise.
  • Accountable for the hands-on design, development, cost analysis, and delivery of modern technical frameworks, platforms, and solutions related to cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), ci/cd, automation, containerized workloads, etc.
  • Responsible for supporting and mentoring other cloud operations engineers, leading innovation, providing a technical roadmap, and working closely with management to explore cultural and operational improvements.
  • Provides the highest level of technical expertise in multiple technologies including but not limited to software configuration management, networking and security design configuration and automation, systems administration, and the design provisioning and support of the full suite of AWS services and solutions.
Accountabilities:
  • Design and implement infrastructure as code solutions using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, boto3, Ansible, docker, etc
  • Design and implement networking, security, cost, and operations features into the enterprise cloud platform in AWS
  • Design and implement security and automation features using gitops, Gitlab, pipelines, docker, etc
  • Lead devops, collaboration, and platform discussions and decisions across multiple teams
  • Stay current with industry trends and present findings and proofs of concept to team, leadership, and stakeholders
  • Mentor and train others on methodologies, technologies, design patterns, and best practices
  • Support others, ensuring they have the proper tools, time, and resources to be successful
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent and 4-6 years hands on developing / engineering or 11 years of related experience in lieu of a degree or relevant military experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in system administration, networking, and security configuration management in AWS and/or related cloud technology
  • Demonstrated expertise in the automation of provisioning and management of AWS solutions and/or related cloud technology
  • Demonstrated expertise in software configuration management, version control, build and release management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of digital platforms, tools, and processes
  • Demonstrated passion for building high quality technology solutions
  • Demonstrated experience in a technical leadership role
  • Demonstrated ability to come up with innovative, complete technology solutions to business needs
  • Ability to work onsite at organization's campus; ability to support on-call duties as needed
Preferred Requirements:
  • 8 years+ direct hands on development / engineering experience developing modern technology
  • 5 years+ direct hands on experience in automating deployment of solutions in AWS including use of Terraform and Python
  • Hands on experience with AWS Infrastructure and services such as EC2, ECS, RDS, and Lambda, and full stack "serverless" products
  • Hands on experience in configuring and managing supplemental platform and collaborations software such as Sumologic, Gitlab, Jira, MS Teams, etc.
  • Experience designing modern web, mobile, API, and IoT solutions
  • Experience delivering products using agile and DevOps methodologies
