NIC Oklahoma is currently seeking applicants for a Cloud / DevOps Engineer to assist in the successful implementation of web-based applications and services for state and local government partners. The Cloud/Devops Engineer handles procuring, building, and implementing of automated tools for NIC managed applications. This includes handling deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting activities for applications deployed using Docker onto Linux in both dedicated server and the Azure environment. A key part of the role is championing and leading infrastructure as code, ensuring environment stability, and working with the Director of Technology and Software Architect to develop a roadmap for infrastructure changes. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and highly available on Azure
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Technology and Software Architects to define infrastructure and deployment requirements
- Work with development to automated application deployment and monitoring
- Ensure configuration and compliance with configuration management tools
- Administer and troubleshoot Linux based systems
- Troubleshoot problems across a wide array of services and functional areas
- Build and maintain operational tools for deployment, monitoring, and analysis of both Azure and dedicated infrastructure and systems
- Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent with minimum of 4 years relevant work experience in application deployment, and/or systems administration. Additional experience will be considered in lieu of degree
- Strong understanding of how to secure Azure environments and meet compliance requirements
- Hands-on experience deploying and managing infrastructure using automation
- Solid foundation of networking and Linux administration
- Experience with Docker, GitLab, Pipelines, ELK or Azure Log Analytics, and deploying applications on Azure
- Ability to identify and understand complex problems/issues and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate with teams both remote and local.
- Ability to learn/use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
- Strong bias for action and ownership
